Neue Haas Grotesk Family 44

neue haas grotesk pro family fortyfivedownload ‘N' has a straight story. That can be seen right from the first letter in the name. For some 10 years now, virtual reality has been on the cusp of becoming mainstream. It started off with headsets like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, then came Google Cardboard and finally more sophisticated alternatives like the PlayStation VR and Gear VR. Yet while in the early days the idea of immersive reality has been foisted on the public as “virtual reality” (VR), some serious innovations have since emerged that has changed the paradigm somewhat. As cheap and easy-to-use headsets come on the market that work well and are more affordable than the original Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, the future of virtual reality is looking more like real or augmented reality (AR) than VR. This is because AR, as opposed to VR, doesn’t require a headset. There are a number of apps and games designed specifically to allow users to virtually walk around a real-world space, for example, and there’s nothing stopping you from doing the same with a phone or tablet. So, while there’s still room for improvement in terms of VR tech, it may never be able to compete with AR on the levels that the latter can deliver. Other technologies that could eventually transform the world of AR and VR include Google Glass, Daydream View, and the Move Controllers, not to mention the upcoming Windows Mixed Reality headsets. All of these technologies are complementary and could help boost the mainstream adoption of both AR and VR. Google Glass Founded in 2012, Google Glass was initially a prototype that, like the Leap Motion controller, was designed to track users’ hands and fingers as they performed actions in front of a computer. But, instead of being worn on the head, it was clipped to the users’ temples. The problem with Glass’s design was that it was bulky, irritating, and looked like a silly sci-fi helmet that would make any other person go cross-eyed. Moreover, the headset was far too expensive. Given all of these drawbacks, it’s surprising that anyone would wear a pair of Glass at all. As a result, Google was forced to cut costs and made the device wireless and portable, making it a lot easier to use. This is important because it allowed Google to continue to develop Glass while ac619d1d87
